... we spent on the beach. Hot and sunny, and it was probably the last day this year we had a chance to swim in the sea?
Botany Bay is where we found the perfect spot. The beach in sandy, water great [with high tide that is!] and there is a lovely little cafe with homemade cakes.
On the beach we found some interesting stones. one looked EXACTLY like a scull, so knew it needed to be "finished off". J got really into it and first drew the sketch and, when I thought all was done he brought the drawing/construction into Photoshop and here is [on the right] what came out of it. He built the bones using just a small sample taken from and original stone= the head!
I love it!
That reminded me of our other stone adventure couple of years ago. We went to Sheerness. Took with us some crayons [never really go anywhere without some sort of drawing equipment...] and looked for stones to draw on.
It was also the beginning of September, like this time, but it was "slightly" cooler ;-) so I happily used my knitted blanket.
and few stones were made - perfect as fridge magnets! Funny and unique. Try the next time you go to the beach :-)
In the garden we got rid of some overgrown weeds. J grew them for the whole summer thinking that they would be as beautiful as... roses. The weeds did not turn into roses so, at the end, I decided they had to go. But when we cut them down the tiny fluffy seeds flew around making it like the scene from Avatar.
There was more magic in the air in the evening with this amazing sky :-)
